It has quite the odd dream-like song lyric and I find this song really memorizing and catchy. I was just visiting my neighborhood Starbucks today and this is their free song of the week: Bloodbuzz Ohio by The National

Aprons!
Sorry I haven't been posting much. I've taken pictures of lots of things that I've made lately (the glorious frittata that some of you got to sample, mushroom risotto, and zucchini with walnuts, chives, garlic, and bread crumbs, just to give a few examples) but somehow my pictures never make them look particularly appetizing. Also I'm lazy and don't remember to put them up. So instead, everyone oogle my new apron!

Is it not AWESOME?!
Right, that's all. I'm making a vanilla buttercream celebration cake today, hopefully pictures of that one will end up surfacing soon so I have material for a real post :)
p.s. It was 75 during my lunch break yesterday. And YOU had the earthquake, not me! Move to San Francisco!

See the Tidal Bore on the Amazon
I’m not telling you to make the world better, because I don’t think that progress is necessarily part of the package,” she said. ”I’m just telling you to live in it. Not just to endure it, not just to suffer it, not just to pass through it, but to live in it. To look at it. To try to get the picture. To live recklessly. To take chances. To make your own work and take pride in it. To seize the moment. And if you ask me why you should bother to do that, I could tell you that the grave’s a fine and private place, but none I think do there embrace. Nor do they sing there, or write, or argue, or see the tidal bore on the Amazon, or touch their children. And that’s what there is to do and get it while you can and good luck at it.

Sonic Minimi
Busy busy three weeks! I shouldn't be taking this time to post right now because I'm blowing people off this weekend because of my test Monday (SORRY SORRY!), but I just have to take a 10 minute break from histology or I'll go insane!
Anyway, I just wanted to share a few pictures of one of my new neighbors. She wanted to borrow a cup of sugar, but I said no.
She was a bit pissed off and flew off in a huff. Especially when I started snapping pictures of her.
"What are YOU looking at?"
She hasn't been back since :-(
And that's my ten minutes.
Before I sign off, I'll leave you with two nifty factoids I've learned.
1. There's totally a muscle in the forearm called Extensor Digiti Minimi (pronounced Mini Me). It extends the pinky. Isn't that adorable?
2. There is a protein named "Sonic Hedgehog Homolog" which is involved in the formation of the neural tube. If I discover something, I'm totally going to name it something ridiculous . . . like Princess Tinkerbelle Fairy Factor or Peach Pear Plum Protein. Have any other ridiculous name suggestions?
Feel free to use either of those facts in daily conversation. It'll make you super popular . . .
